About Us
I created this page as a tribute to my grandparents. Both my grandparents were born in Malacca 85 years ago, members of the minority Baba Nyonya and Cantonese communities. They led humble lives, marked by poverty yet rich in resilience and love. Despite their hardships, they successfully raised more than five children, each one a testament to their perseverance and strength. Their stories, filled with struggles and triumphs, are a significant part of my heritage that I regretfully never fully captured while they were here.
Growing up, I cherished the moments I spent with them but didn't realize the importance of preserving their narratives until it was too late. Now, as I reflect on the missed opportunities to listen more intently and document their lives, I am motivated to create this space. It's a place where I, and others like me who wish they had captured more, can celebrate and share the rich stories of our ancestors, ensuring their legacies live on.
